Abstract |
In this paper we will examine some kind of syllabic nasals in Chinese dialects. Through a cross-dialect comparison, it is shown that these syllabic nasals are all derived from CV syllable types with nasal initials and high vowels. Some phenomenon pertains to certain dialect group but other have a wider geographical distribution. |
