Abstract |
In this paper, I rebuke the annotation of Hexiu that the appearance of the term “Count at Yang” (Boyuyang) was the outcome of textual errors. Instead, I suggest a more plausible explanation: What the Gongyang Commentary really meant was to tell an episode that the name of filius ducalis Yangsheng was given in memory of his father’s successful military maneuver to escort a dethroned count of Yan into the city of Yang. |
